Lessard
As Board Chair of Be A Budd and Ryley’s mom, Jen brings more than 23 years of leadership experience with the Calgary Police Service, where she has led complex initiatives focused on organizational change, strategic planning, and community service. Her experience includes leading teams, managing significant resources, and bringing people together around shared goals.
Jen brings a strong background in governance, strategic planning, leadership, and organizational development to the Board. She is passionate about supporting BAB’s growth, strengthening its foundation, and helping create meaningful opportunities for young people to give back and make a difference in their communities.

Vice Chair
Jamie
Taylor
Jamie is an accomplished executive leader with extensive experience in economic development, government relations, and organizational leadership. As CEO of the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission, Jamie leads a multidisciplinary team focused on business growth, workforce development, and community investment.
As Vice-Chair of Be A Budd, Jamie brings expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, governance, and building strong organizations. Her experience working across government, community, and organizational leadership roles provides valuable perspective in guiding BAB’s strategic direction, strengthening partnerships, and supporting thoughtful, sustainable growth.

Secretary
Kathleen
Gareau
Kathleen is a dedicated community service professional with a strong background in case management and supporting vulnerable populations. Her experience spans government and community-based roles, where she has worked closely with individuals facing complex challenges including disabilities, mental health, addiction, and poverty.
Known for her empathetic, client-centered approach, Kathleen excels at building meaningful relationships, navigating policy, and delivering wraparound supports. She brings valuable frontline insight, strong collaboration skills, and a growing foundation in nonprofit leadership through her ongoing MBA studies and specialized training in grant writing and nonprofit management.
Treasurer
Saneha
Saneha is a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and business operations. As a Manager at Indian Curry House in Banff, she oversees daily financial transactions, cash reconciliations, invoicing, and expense tracking. Her background in sales, client relations, and account management has also strengthened her communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Saneha has completed post-graduate studies in Accounting and Business Administration through York University and continues to build her skills in Power BI and data visualization. As Treasurer, she brings accuracy, reliability, and a strong financial perspective to Be A Budd’s governance and operations.

Katleen
Lessard
Katleen is a highly experienced Human Resources and administrative professional with nearly two decades of experience in operations, data management, and organizational support. She currently works as a Human Resources Administrator, where she manages employee data, supports onboarding, and contributes to engagement initiatives.
Her background spans HR, procurement, contract management, and executive support across multiple industries. Katleen is recognized for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to streamline processes and support effective decision-making. Fully bilingual, she brings a thoughtful, structured, and solutions-oriented approach to her work.

Junior Director
Saiyash
Balaji
Saiyash is a motivated high school student with a strong commitment to community involvement and youth engagement. With more than 100 volunteer hours, he has supported children and youth through local recreation programs and care settings, developing a reputation for being reliable, respectful, and calm under pressure.
Saiyash also brings an entrepreneurial mindset through his clothing resale business and independent barbering service. These experiences have strengthened his communication, organization, customer service, and accountability skills. As a Junior Director, he brings a valuable youth perspective to the Board while continuing to develop his leadership skills and encouraging other young people to get involved in their communities.
